With annual budget woes set to continue for the foreseeable future, eroding state funding, no operating levy in place, and declining enrollment, North Branch Area Public Schools (NBAPS) enters the 2010-11 budget season with the need to not only plan for next year, but for future years as well. In order to offset expenses long-term, the district is considering closing the Main Street School.

The four-day school week is about to get scrutinized by North Branch Area Public Schools. Last winter, Superintendent Deb Henton informed the school board at a public meeting that if a levy failed, state funding remained flat or declined, and enrollment continued to decline, she would recommend moving forward with the study and implementation of a four-day school week

It’s not too late to get vaccinated against H1N1 PDF Print E-mail
H1N1 influenza vaccine is now available.  Although the second wave of H1N1 illness appears to be decreasing, there is still H1N1 flu activity in Minnesota.  A third wave of illness is likely later this winter.
