Amador Majors baseball team took first place at the county tournament held August 6-8 in Almelund. Sy DeGray of Cambridge shot a hole-in-one on Aug. 8 at Falcon Ridge on hole number 3, 91 yards using an 8 iron. Gary Hovland of Wyoming shot a hole-in-one Aug. 9 on hole number 3, 91 yards using a pitching wedge. On Aug. 15, Troy Gylling of Farmington shot a hole-in-one on hole number 3, 195 yards, par 3, using a 3 iron.

Rush City 2007 graduate Britt Frandsen (pictured) recently took first place in the 20-24 age class of the Danskin Women’s Triathlon in Pleasant Prairie, Wis. There were 55 contestants in the class. It was the first triathlon for this 21-year-old.
Overall, she placed 31 out of 1,500 contestants, noted her father Bob
Frandsen. The triathlon consisted of a 500m swim, 12-mile bike ride,
and 5K run. Britt is a student at Columbia College in Chicago.

The North Branch girl’s basketball team is pictured here after winning the Pine City League Championship Tournament.
They won the tournament beating Pine City, Prescott, Wis., and then Rush City in the championship game. It is the second straight year the girls have won the tournament. Playing in Pine City all summer they ended the league with a single elimination tournament.
