NB boys hockey season ended with loss to Pine City PDF Print E-mail

nb hockey.jpgThe North Branch boys hockey team ended the season by losing to Pine City/Rush City 2-4 in the 5A Section playoff game held on Tuesday, Feb. 24 in Pine City.

Caske Owen and Josh Arnold scored the two goals for the Vikings with assists by Zak Carchedi, Ken Broden and Anthony Zengerle. Goalie Nic Miller saved 29 of 33 shots on goal in the first round game of the section playoffs.

The leading scorer for the Vikings season was Jarrett Sachs with 24 goals and nine assists followed by Lane Noyes with 11 goals and 15 assists.

Gavin Runberg made seven goals and five assists, Dalton Miska had three goals and five assists, Arnold three goals and two assists, A. Zengerle two goals and four assists, Michael SantaBrigida two goals and two assists, Broden one goal and five assists, Jake Lenards one goal, three assists and Carchedi made one goal and two assists. Tom Toohey, Bobby Magistad and Owen each made one goal.

Brian Dahlstom had four assists. Jake Zengerle and Tanner Danks made two assists while Charlie Fernow and David Henderson each made one assist. Viking’s goalies Miller had a 4-13 record and stopped 456 of 561 shots on the goal, while Josh Anderson was credited with two losses and saved 52 of 65 shots on goal.

The North Branch boys hockey team was independent and not in a conference and ended the season with a 4-15 overall record.
