A Stacy man, out on bail for a January aggravated robbery, was charged today with another armed robbery. News out of County Attorney Janet Reiter’s office today announced that more charges had been filed against Blake Charles Nelson, 19, of Stacy, stemming from a Friday, Sept. 11 armed robbery of the Riverview Conoco station in Taylors Falls. Bail was set at $500,000 and his next court appearance is Sept. 28, at 1 p.m. According to the county attorney’s office, Nelson had been out on $150,000 bail after having been charged with aggravated robbery in the first degree in the January 23, 2009, holdup of Rick’s Liquor store in Wyoming. Trial in that case is set for October 5, 2009. In the new case, Nelson was charged with aggravated robbery in the first degree, two counts of assault in the second degree and transporting a pistol by an ineligible person. According to the criminal complaint, Nelson came into the Riverview Conoco about 8:40 p.m. wearing an orange ski mask and carrying a nine millimeter semi-automatic pistol. He then chambered a round, threw a bag at the cashier and demanded all the money. He pointed the gun at the cashier and a patron, and, after receiving the money, fled the store. Nelson stashed the gun, mask, and money under a tree near the Taylors Falls Community Center where the police found it. The police then staked out the area and apprehended Nelson later when he came back to retrieve the items. Comments (0)
