Monday, 05 October 2009

Two pedestrians were struck while crossing a dark highway Saturday night, near the Stacy-Lent Fire Department’s fire station in Stacy.

Doris Eileen Lent, 66, of Lindstrom and her twin brother, Dennis Dean Mell, of Stacy were crossing County Road 30, with a third person, when they were hit by a southbound Subaru Legacy driven by Cynthia Boyce, 37, of Wyoming. The accident occurred at 8:56 p.m.

Lent and Mell suffered internal injuries and both were airlifted to Twin Cities hospitals. Their conditions are unknown at this time.

Possible charges could be filed against Boyce, pending results of a blood test, Chisago County Sheriff Todd Rivard said.

More information will be given as it becomes available.

BECAUSE THE PAPER HAD A PERSON AT THE STACY- LENT FIRE DEPT DANCE, I WOULD THINK THE POST WOULD CHECK ITS FAX BEFORE PRINTING THIS OR ANY STORY. THE INFORMATION PUT IN THE PAPER HAS AN INPACT TO THE PUBLICS VIEW. THIS WAS A BAD THING FOR ALL PARTY. FACT, THERE IS NO CROSSWALK IN FRONT OF THE FIRE DEPT. FACT, THERE IS VARY LITTLE LIGHT ON THAT PART OF THE ROAD. FACT, THE ONLY REASON THEY WHERE CROSSING THE ROAD WAS BECAUSE THEY LIVED ACROSS THE ROAD. TO NOT HAVE ALL THE FACTS BEFORE PRINTING STORY IS SAD, EVERY ONE HAS TO LIVE WITH THIS, AND THE POST IS DOING POOR JOB.
