By Kelli Baxter Several arrests have been made in connection with a host of burglaries in northern Chisago County townships, Sheriff Todd Rivard said. Sheriff’s office investigators have been working on leads in multiple residential burglaries that have occurred since June in Nessel, Fish Lake, Rushseba and north Sunrise townships. Investigator Justin Wood said several people were interviewed who had knowledge of the incidents, and two search warrants were conducted at locations near Pine City and in Rush City where stolen items, mostly electronic equipment, were believed to have been stored. Wood said nothing was found at either location, however. A 25-year-old man and a 19-year-old woman, both of Rush City, were arrested Oct. 28 in connection with a burglary on the 50000 block of Amber Avenue in Nessel Township. Rivard said the woman was identified by the victim in a photo lineup. On Oct. 26, police made three other arrests. Investigators connected a 42-year-old Minneapolis woman, a 48-year-old Hinckley man and a 49-year-old Stanchfield man to a separate Nessel Township burglary on the 300 block of 500th Street West. Wood said a neighbor reported a suspicious vehicle in the area and officers were able to track it down. Two men from Isanti also were arrested last week. The brothers — one 32 and the other 36 — who are believed to be connected to the Chisago County burglaries were booked on Isanti County warrants. Rivard said all the suspects are believed to be involved in other burglaries, and he hopes now that they have been arrested, the crimes will slow down. The sheriff’s office is continuing to investigate the incidents. Suspects will be named when they are formally charged. Comments (0)
