NORTH BRANCH INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT NO. 138 NORTH BRANCH AREA EDUCATION CENTER POLICY COMMITTEE MEETING July 11, 2013 The Policy Committee met on Thursday, July 11, 2013 at 4:00 p.m. in Room 118 at the North Branch Area Education Center. Members in Attendance: Kirby Ekstrom, Randy Westby, Superintendent Henton, Randi Johnson, Coleman McDonough, Lori Zimmerman, and Arle Chambers Review of Meeting Norms There were no questions on the meeting norms. Series 800 Policies Policy 801 - Equal Access to School Facilities Policy 801 will be presented at the September Work Session with a recommendation to bring it to the October 10th meeting for a first reading. Policy 802 - Disposition of Obsolete Equipment and Material Policy 802 will be presented at the September Work Session with a recommendation to bring it to the October 10th meeting for a first reading. Policy 806 - Crisis Management Policy 806 will be presented at the September Work Session with a recommendation to bring it to the October 10th meeting for a first reading. North Branch Policy to be Eliminated The committee discussed the following policy and will recommend eliminating it because it is either addressed in another policy or no longer applies. Policy 3260 - School Properties Disposal Procedures Series 700 Policies The next series of policies that the committee will review will be the 700 series. Future Meetings The Policy Committee decided not to have a meeting in August because of the numerous policies that will be presented at the September Work Session.
