Tigers defeat Isle

The Rush City girls basketball team narrowly escaped defeat with a two-point win over Isle Jan. 7. In what may have gone down as one of the closest games of the year, Brittany Scheffer was fouled with two seconds remaining in the game, and sunk both free throws to give the Tigers a 45-43 win.

Just when the Braham Bombers thought the Rush City Tigers didn't have any gas left in their tank, the Tigers came screaming back to make the game interesting. Losing is difficult, but even more difficult when it's by one goal in overtime. With 27 seconds left before the game would have ended in a tie, Moose Lake scored the game winner, to give the North Branch boys hockey a 7-6 loss. Go to story
