To the Editor:
I do not have children in the NBAPS but whatever district we have resided in, we have supported public education because we believe in it whether or not we had children enrolled.
It is a joy to read about local students in the newspaper and how they are succeeding despite the financial situation of our schools. Even as things are being continually cut and they are losing favorite teachers, some students continue to strive.
They continue with sports (thanks to parents’ funding), academics, dance, concerts, speech competition, plays, and all things extra-curricular and some activities we never hear about. It goes on.
I commend the staff and students and parents for their efforts to make the best of a dire situation.
